David Graham is best known for his color photographs of the vernacular American landscape and the people who inhabit it. Graham uses popular photographic genres to capture popular culture: his images resemble snapshots, family portraits, vacation pictures and postcards.

At ICA, Graham exhibited work from the last two decades including a series of American portraits images exploring the quirky side of American life, and photographs of Cuba, taken in 1997 when Graham traveled to that country with journalist Andrei Codescu.
